This is one of the hardest adoption posts we’ve ever had to write.
Bak has been with us for a year and a half, and during that time we have worked through multiple health issues together. He has blossomed into a happy, healthy, absolutely priceless soul — and because we believe every horse deserves a family of their own, we are carefully opening the door to the right home.
Let us tell you about Bak…
He has a true puppy-dog personality. He demands love and attention — and gives it right back. He loads, ties, stands beautifully for the farrier and vet, and is completely sound. He is safe, steady, and more on the “whoa” side. He loves leisurely trail rides and takes care of his rider.
Bak was originally imported to the U.S. . We do have his original paperwork as his original owner has reached out and has become a great friend and supporter of our mission. This boy still carries that big personality — full of life, full of love, and full of presence.
Special Considerations
Bak has anhidrosis, which means he does not sweat certain times of the year. We have tried every supplement available. He does well in the summer as long as he has:

• A large stall

• Multiple fans

• A porta cooler system

Because of this, we are open to adopting outside of Florida if the climate is alot cooler as he would be able to enjoy life more and the home is perfect. While many have asked about beach rides or therapy work, he would not be able to tolerate that in the summer heat.
This is a high-maintenance boy — not medically unsound — but emotionally and management-wise. He thrives on attention. He would be ideal for a stay-at-home horse mom or a facility with dedicated staff who can provide daily hands-on care and love.
Our Requirements (and we will be over-the-top with this one):

• Approved application

• Signed contract

• Adoption fee

• Videos/photos of stall setup, shelter, and fencing

• Required delivery to his new home

We will choose the best home for Bak — not the first inquiry, but the absolute BEST fit.

If that home does not exist, Bak will remain here in sanctuary, safe and loved. We are not in a rush. We are in this for him.

Adoption Fee: $3,000 (His adoption fee is on the higher side as we need to know his needs will be met and he is worth a million)

We have a variety of adoption fees from $500 and up. The adoption fee is set by the board and is set with many variables including expenses and current market. With many, if you cannot afford the adoption fee, you will not be able to afford an emergency vet call.
