At Stricker Sunshine Rescue Ranch, we understand that life can change unexpectedly. Financial hardship, health challenges, relocation, or family circumstances can make it difficult to continue caring for a horse.

There is no shame in recognizing when you are no longer able to provide what your horse needs. In fact, reaching out for help is one of the most responsible and compassionate decisions an owner can make.

Our goal is not judgment — it is partnership. We are here to walk alongside you and ensure your horse transitions safely and responsibly into a secure future. Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, retrain and rehome with an approved application and contract. 

The Sunshine Select Partnership is a structured placement division of Stricker Sunshine Rescue Ranch designed for quality horses who require responsible transition — not rescue.

This partnership serves private owners who seek a secure, contract-protected pathway for horses that may no longer align with current show goals, breeding programs, or personal circumstances.

Each Sunshine Select horse:

• Undergoes evaluation prior to acceptance
• Is placed through a strict application and reference process
• Is protected by comprehensive adoption contracts
• Maintains return-to-rescue protection
• Provides owners with a tax-deductible donation receipt

Adoption fees reflect the horse’s training, ability, and market value while remaining accessible compared to private sale pricing. Proceeds from the Sunshine Select Partnership directly support the rehabilitation and care of rescue horses within our critical intake program.

This model creates sustainability, accountability, and protection — for every horse involved.
