New Arrival Rescues

Our mission is to try to take in horses in our area in need. We want to intercept each from the auction or kill pen pipeline. We do take in auction and kill pen horses in certain situations.
They will be in quarantine for a minimum of 30 days.

Welcome Big Guy!

We received a call with only one hour’s notice. This horse needed somewhere safe to go immediately. He was already loaded in the trailer and needed somewhere to go ASAP! When he arrived, our hearts sank. The summer sore on his sheath is massive and clearly very painful. We immediately called our vet with tears in our eyes. Our vet actually saw this horse a few months ago and had already advised that the lesion needed surgical removal. Unfortunately that never happened.

The good news is our amazing vet, came out to evaluate the massive summer sore in his sheath. After examining it closely, he feels it is too large and complex to safely remove here at the rescue. He referred us to the Equine Medical Center of Ocala, and will be receiving his much needed surgery on March 17th! As for right now, he is decompressing and getting ALOT of grooming time and love! Can't wait to see this handsome boys transformation!
